I’m really excited and honored to be speaking at BOTH a PLATFORM and a PLUS class at the WPPI 2009 conference in Las Vegas in February. Kevin Jairaj (www.kjimages.com) and I will be presenting “Rings to Rattles” at the one of the industry’s largest International conventions of them all! We will be speaking along side of many top photographers in the world.
I had to send in a few headshots for some promos (Oh, how I hate being on the *other* side of the camera!) Here’s a few to share, including our *mugshot* in the latest Rangefinder magazine.

There’s still a few spots left for our “in studio HANDS ON” workshop in October… check out the site for details: www.RingsToRattles.com
(woah! I’m a poet! ha!)
Had a recent session with Ms Joanne and her TEEN *kiddos*. Jessica just started her senior year, while Jeff heads back to another year of college.
These guys are a crazy bunch and we had some laughs!

I recently had a photo session with 3 gorgeous gals! One of them is the mom! :::winks:::, one of them is heading to oxford soon, and one, is my little sister “in disguise”! ha! This was a super fun session! Few to share…

because we found one, rather, Gabriela did! Last night, right before the “storm that didn’t really happen” (we are all safe and sound and going back to school now! whew!)…. Gabriela carried this cat down to our house. Well, Andrew is totally allergic to kittys and I told her to take him back where she found him… Fast forward TWO minutes later… the cat follows her home… and what do I do? feed him canned chicken! yep. I’m an idiot. He’s not leaving. I’m going to post a “lost and found” on my neighborhood website, but if anyone recognizes this cat (found in Fishhawk-Lithia), let us know! He’s well loved so far and has been named Robert, Nick (as in Jonas!) and now Ashes. Kinda funny. Chula, the dog, is not too sure about the “hissing fits”…but it’s cute to see them interact! We can’t keep him, but he’s pretty sweet and loving…

Well, today was the first day of school, and tomorrow is the first “hurricane” day of the season! School is cancelled for tomorrow and we’re making plans to “hunker down” in these parts!
I’m rescheduling all appointments for tomorrow and we’ll play the rest of the week by ear.
To all those in the area, stay safe. Here’s a visual of where I am….you know…right in the MIDDLE of the “projected” mess! This is probably my 15th hurricane, so I’m a pretty good “hunker down” pro!

ADDED LOTS of new HOLIDAY cards…
also, I think I have a pretty comprehensive gallery now of “the extras”… when you go to “the EXTRAS” section on the site, type in the “passwords” for the sections you are looking for…:
baby
holidays
seniors
bags
jewelry
I love this comic strip… cracks me up! You can check out more at whattheduck.net. This one really struck me because it’s SO true! Poor kiddos of the 21st century! Luckily, this is not true of MY CLIENTS as they have gorgeous pictures of their families to display! Thanks to Tara for sending me this shot of her gorgeous display! I love to see the portraits when they are hung on the walls!

I just realized that I never posted this anywhere… I had the honor of being asked to be highlighted in a photography tutuorial book: Professional Children’s Portrait Photography. I was interviewed and I sent the publishers about 100 images to choose from and it was fun and interesting to see what they picked, including my OWN kiddos on the COVER and inside the album, including a large page of my Gab-a-roo!
Here’s the pages and a link to amazon, for anyone interested…. THE BOOK

I know it’s August, but Halloween always seems to creep right up and costumes sell out fast! I have to say, Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. Not for any “spooky” reasons (I can’t stand being SCARED! just ask my boy who got himself PUSHED backwards over our vacuum cleaner after scaring the STUFF out of me!–he was fine, I was horrified, and the vacuum cleaner? BROKEN! ha!)… I live in a wonderful neighborhood that has tons of kiddos and Halloween is a HUGE todo!
Anyway, I got my current Chasing Fireflies catalog (LOVE LOVE LOVE it!)… they have all the new halloween costumes in there and can I just share how MUCH I loved “torturing” my children when they were younger and forced them to wear ridiculous crazy costumes (I even thought I could SEW one year and while having pneumonia, finished a PENGUIN costume… my favorite was when my boy was a pillsbury dough boy! so cute!…one year he was peter pan and I was tinkerbell! Gabs first costume was dorothy, complete with her ruby reds!) Anyway… here’s a few super adorable ideas…check out the site! If anyone gets any of these AMAZING costumes, lemme know…I may put together some “halloween mini” sessions just because I love these costumes so much!

and how CUTE is this for decorating pumpkins??
